Community Curbside Best Practices
Strong community curbside programs follow these guidelines for glass recycling outreach:
Inform residents what can and cannot be recycled curbside on their website, flyers, and on recycling containers
Provide instructions for glass recycling preparation: Clean and empty bottles and jars, separate metal lids
Include pictures of acceptable glass bottles and jars
Engage with residents about glass recycling at events
Use MRF videos and photos tell the story of what happens to recyclables after they leave the curb or drop-off center.
